Wow! Great service and delicious food, a hidden gem. This was my first chance to try Colombian food. Was getting work done on my truck at the shop next door and walked over. Was helped right away and they answered my questions about the menu. I had the Arepa de pollo (10/10) with a bunuelo and a coke. Chicken was perfectly cooked and juicy. The mozzarella cheese complimented the chicken perfectly. Food came out quickly and was excellent. The salsa (aji verde?)was more sweet than typical Mexican salsa but still had a kick. I will definitely be coming back!
I loved this place. Thank you to the staff who helped me and was patient with my horrible Spanish. The food was better than imagined and had so much flavor. Will definitely be coming back
Chicken (pollo) empanadas, yucca fries and arepas de queso.. Soooo delicious. Not sure how we stumbled across this but I will always come back. The sauce that comes with these (not sure what it is but OMG) AMAZING! They speak Spanish but no issues ordering. They also accept venmo and cashapp. Definitely would recommend
The arepas are crisp, warm, and delicious! We got a sampler platter, a couple of kinds of arepas, some tequenos, and a bunuelo. The plantanos malduro and the yuca frita were my favorite sides. We had a large order, but the staff had it together in no time. This is a great truck. I can't wait to try more!
Today was my first visit to Empanadas y Arepas JOVI and I ordered an assortment of food to taste, all were good. Colombia has different regions, just like the USA and this leads to each region having a different flavor for their typical foods. Empanadas y Arepas JOVI cooks are from El Departamento (State) de Tolima therefore if you have eaten Colombian food from a different region you will notice a different slight flavor, which is good to sample different flavors. But those of you that haven't tried authentic Colombian cuisine it's worth a drive to check out Empanadas y Arepas JOVI to sample traditional Colombian Tolima cuisine, flavor is mild not to spicy, but you can make it more spicy by adding the green chili sauce that they prepare. All the staff is very friendly and professional and will greet you with a warm Saludos. There are no pictures of the empanadas because they were quickly devoured; yes they are good.
I’m new to SA and wanted to try some food trucks in the area. This place has to be some of the best food by far in general. I ended up ordering a little too much because I didn’t realize the size of the arepas de carne. Otherwise the food was amazing and the platanos maduros are so good as well. Definitely will be coming back!
Really cool food truck setup. There's plenty of space to eat. Friendly service and the place is super clean. Got a carne con papa empanada and platanos maduro. Didn't take long to get my order and the food was smoking hot. Both the empanada and platanos were fantastic and delicious. The beef in the empanada was nicely seasoned. I regret not getting more food. I'll need to go back and try more of the menu.
